EFFECT OF UTILIZATION WASTE SHELLS AND CERAMICS

AS A SUBSTITUTION OF FINE AND COARSE AGGREGATES OF CONCRETE AGAINST CONCRETE COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH

INTISARI

Limbah cangkang kerang dan keramik merupakan limbah yang jumlahnya cukup banyak dan sering ditemukan di Provinsi Kalimantan Timur khususnya di Kabupaten Kutai Lama.Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemanfaatan limbah berupa cangkang kerang sebagai substitusi sebagian agregat halus dan limbah keramik lantai sebagai substitusi agregat kasar terhadap kuat tekan beton.

Campuran limbah cangkang kerang dengan presentase 5% ditambah limbah keramik dengan presentase yang digunakan masing -  masing adalah 13,75%, 27,5%, 41,25%, dan 54%. Pengujian material agregat kasar dan halus yang dilakukan adalah pengujian analisis saringan, kadar air, berat jenis dan penyerapan, bobot isi dan abrasi. Pengujian kuat tekan beton dilakukan pada beton umur 7, 28 dan 35 hari dengan benda uji silinder 10 x 20cm.

Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa substitusi limbah cangkang kerang dan keramik mempengaruhi kekuatan tekan dan nilai slump beton. Terjadi penurunan kekuatan tekan beton campuran limbah cangkang kerang dan keramik sebesar 10,94%, 3,80% 23,60%, dan 25,88% terhadap campuran beton normal. Berdasarkan penelitian ini dapat diketahui bahwa substitusi limbah cangkang kerang sebagai substitusi sebagian agregat halus dan limbah keramik sebagai substitusi agregat kasar dengan proporsi tersebut tidak dapat menaikkan kuat tekan beton.

Shells and ceramic waste is waste that is quite a lot and is often found in the province of East Kalimantan, particularly in Kutai Lama. This research was conducted to determine the effect of the use of waste in the form of shells as a partial substitute fine aggregate and floor ceramic waste as coarse aggregate substitution of compressive strength of concrete.

The mixture of waste shells with a percentage of 5% plus waste ceramics with percentages that used are 13.75%, 27.5%, 41.25% and 54%. Testing of coarse and fine aggregate material taken is testing sieve analysis, moisture content, density and absorption, bulk density and abrasion. Tests performed on concrete compressive strength of concrete ages 7, 28 and 35 days with the test specimen cylinder 10 x 20cm.

The test results showed that the substitution of waste shells and ceramic affect the compressive strength and value of concrete slump. There was a decrease in compressive strength of concrete mixtures with substitution of waste shells and ceramics at 10.94% 3.80% 23.60%, and 25.88% of the normal concrete mix. Based on this research can be seen that the substitution of waste shells as a partial substitution of ceramic waste fine aggregate and coarse aggregate as a substitute with the proportion cannot raise the compressive strength of concrete.
